Isaac Raz is a composer, arranger, and producer whose work bridges jazz tradition, orchestral sophistication, and contemporary recording artistry. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music in jazz composition and music synthesis, Isaac studied with Herb Pomeroy and received the Duke Ellington Award.
He studied for over a decade with Barry Harris and collaborated closely with Bob Mover, co-authoring The Bob Mover Jazz Lexicon (Sher Music). He serves as orchestrator and arranger for Mover’s upcoming orchestral album.
Isaac arranged and produced tracks for Teo Macero’s Impressions of Miles Davis, composed the score for the Emmy Award–winning documentary Pioneer Women, and orchestrated Vanessa Williams’s La Costa, which reached #25 on Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Airplay chart.
His orchestration work on Retreat to Beauty (Antoine Drye, Cellar Music) was named one of DownBeat Magazine’s “Best Albums of 2024,” further establishing him as a sought-after voice in modern orchestration and jazz composition.
